Who owns your domain and your content
Your domain name is the address on your trucks and your business cards. Hibu’s general terms are clear about domains it provides:
“The Domain Name we provide you for your website will be registered to us.”
And about the content it writes for you:
“provided you paid for the Service in full in advance then on cancellation of the Service, we grant you a non-exclusive, worldwide and perpetual right to use, copy, store, modify and publish any written copy that we have created for You as part of the Services.”
If you’re with Hibu today, check whose name your domain is registered in. With PlumberEngine your domain stays registered to you, and the site’s code and content are yours to take.
Minimum terms and renewals
Hibu’s terms set a minimum for each product. A few that matter to plumbers:
“If you select the monthly recurring payment method: (i) the term of this Service will be 12 months;”
“The Minimum Term for Search Basic is 12 months. After the initial 12-month Minimum Term, the term will automatically renew for additional 12-month periods.”
“The Minimum Term for Display Ads Basic is 12 months. (b) The Minimum Term for Display Ads Standard or Display Ads Classic is 6 months. (c) The Minimum Term for Display Ads Plus is 3 months.”
Most services continue month to month after the minimum, unless the service terms say otherwise:
“Your Services will continue on a month-to-month basis after the end of the Minimum Term, unless otherwise specified in the Service Terms,”
What it costs to leave early
“an early termination fee of $99 if you purchased a Hibu Starter Websites Package, $299 if you purchased a Hibu Starter Plus Website Package or Hibu Basic Website Package, $399 if you purchased a Hibu Premium Websites Package or Hibu Standard Website Package and $449 if you purchased a Hibu Pro Website Package.”
“Hibu may charge you, and you agree to pay, an early termination fee of $149 or the amount of your Monthly Budget, whichever is greater.”
PlumberEngine has no early termination fee because it has no term: cancel any month from your billing page.

Does Hibu charge to cancel?
Hibu's terms list early termination fees by product. For a website on monthly payments (which carries a 12-month term), the fee is $99 to $449 depending on the package; for Display Ads it's $149 or your monthly budget, whichever is greater. PlumberEngine has no cancellation fee and no contract.
How much does Hibu cost?
